How LED Arrays Work
Fusion Optix LED Arrays are designed for a variety of direct-lit and edge-lit applications. We design PCB boards with optimal LED spacing and thermal management to meet the most demanding display and lighting applications. We make application-specific LED choices based on efficacy, color temperature, binning, CRI, brightness, and power requirements.

For display applications we design LED rails to work in conjunction with Fusion Optix light guides, but also for CCFL replacements in customer back lights. By making smart choices in our LED array designs we are able to maximize coupling efficiencies of the LEDs with the light guide, enabling ultra-efficient LCD displays. By providing proper heat-sinking and dissipation techniques Fusion Optix is able to offer drop in solutions for CCFL replacements that provide longer lifetimes.

Fusion Optix understands that not all applications require white LEDs. We provide a number of single color LEDs for applications such as machine vision lighting, NVIS, signage, and architainment lighting. By understanding a variety of lighting applications we are able to choose LEDs with the most appropriate color temperature and CRI to interact with the other optical components in the system, resulting in system measurements with the specified CRI and color temperature.

The SSL Lighting industry has enacted rigorous demands in order to meet Energy Star and UL criteria; we design LED arrays with these requirements in mind by fully understanding how the LED arrays will interact with other optical components in the system.
