How Lenses & Diffusers Work
Fusion Optix Lenses and Diffusers are based on Fusion Optix's Advanced Diffusion Films (ADF). We utilize our LightControlT Technology in addition to proprietary manufacturing methods to create a number of different styles of diffusers and lenses. The films undergo a variety of processes such as die-cutting, thermoforming, molding, and lamination to form custom sized thin lenses, rigid lenses, and non-flat lenses.

Thin lenses and diffusers are precision cut films. Rigid lenses and diffusers are films that have been adhered to a rigid substrate, such as polycarbonate or acrylic. Non-flat lenses and diffusers are films that have been molded or formed into a non-flat shape, such as a dome or a tube. In all cases the optical properties of the film do not change significantly; since all lenses and diffusers are made according to customer requirements, we can tailor the original film to exactly meet the final lens specification.

Since each lens is customized for an individual application, we are able to choose the materials that meet the strictest specifications. Through correct material choice we can meet the optical requirements along with thickness, thermal requirements, UV stability, impact resistance, finish, etc.

We understand the demands of product development in the markets we serve and the need for quick turn-around during prototyping. This is why we offer lead-times of <1 week for thin, rigid and non-flat lenses. Prototype quantities do not require a large capital investment and generally only involve a nominal fee because the lenses and diffusers are based on ADF material already made in house.

Fusion Optix is a dependable producer for OEM customers. Our lenses and diffusers help OEMs solve integration and supply chain issues by eliminating 2-component solutions (film + clear lens) and multi-step solutions (film + secondary processing). With reliable and repeatable high volume production methods for our lenses and diffusers, we provide OEM customers with a dependable supply of product to specification and on-time. At Fusion Optix we adhere to high levels of internal process control and reliability testing that well exceed the industry norm, ensuring that you get the same product from the first lens to the 1,000,000th lens.
